It is my great pleasure to announce that the 15th Asian Conference on Chemical Sensors (ACCS) is held in City of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan, which is the first time in 23 years in Japan.

This conference was first held in Fukuoka, Japan in 1993 as the East Asia Conference on Chemical Sensors to expand the sensor technology and research education in Asia, and has been held in various Asian countries, such as, 2nd Xi'an, China 1995; 3rd Seoul, Korea 1997; 4th Taipei, Taiwan 1999; 5th Nagasaki, Japan 2001; 6th Guilin, China 2005; 7th Singapore 2007; 8th Daegu, Korea 2008 when the meeting name was changed to Asian Conference on Chemical Sensors; 9th Taipei, Taiwan 2011; 10th Chiang Mai, Thailand 2013; 11th Penang, Malaysia 2015; 12th Hanoi, Vietnam 2017; 13th Bali, Indonesia 2019, and the previous 14th ACCS was successfully held in Manila, Philippines in 2023 after overcoming the Cov-19 issues.

In 2023, as the IMCS was also held in Changchun, China in the same ACCS year, which raised concerns that the ACCS and IMCS would be held in the same biannual year. To avoid this problem, the ISC members decided to hold the 15th ACCS in 2024 and the 16th ACCS in 2026 as every two years.

The 15th ACCS2024 is held in Kitakyushu, Japan, and we hope that it will provide a valuable forum for investigation, discussion, and information exchange on sensor research, sensor technology, and related materials science. We are confident that the sensor field will expand greatly through this conference. All of us involved welcome you to Kitakyushu, known as an environmental city.

Finally, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all ISC-, LOC-, JACS-, KCV- members, and all those involved for their efforts in organizing and supporting the 15ACCS in Kitakyushu 2024.

I wish you have a nice time & enjoy in Kitakyushu.
